Surf Safe Online

Do you want to know what your child is doing online?

On the 17 October 2018 Butler Primary School will be hosting an Online Safety workshop provided by online safety expert, Paul Litherland from Surf Safe Online.

Year Five and Six students will attend student workshops during the day and a special parent workshop will be held in the evening. Parents are invited to attend this workshop for free; however, seats are limited and tickets will be provided on a first come first serve basis.

Paul Litherland is a knowledgeable and experienced presenter with great reputation who is highly sought after in the educational community. He has been presenting Online Safety workshops for the past 5 years, going from 5 schools to over 400 schools and organisations across Australia. Paul’s presentations are age appropriate and up-to-date with all the relevant information and research into Online Safety. He presented to our students and staff last year and they were all impressed with his captivating style and knowledge base and also his sense of humour.

The parent session is available to any parent or caregiver who is interested in knowing more about the most effective ways to keep your child safe in the online environment. The workshops are incredibly worthwhile and we encourage as many parents and caregivers to attend as possible. Bring your smartphones because you are going to want to change some settings once you hear what Paul has to say. A notebook would also be worthwhile to jot down all the safety tips he provides. More information regarding these workshops will be sent out early in Term Four. This is an evening not to be missed!
